Carolyn serves clients in family law, wills and estates, and civil litigation. In family law, Carolyn offers decades of life experience, having raised her own children through divorce and remarriage. She understands that family law can be intimidating and confusing if you’ve never been through it before, so she focusses her practice on helping you set goals, understand the law, and move your life forward. Carolyn has appeared in Provincial Court and the Court of Queen’s Bench on issues of divorce, custody, access, parenting, guardianship, child support, spousal/partner support, property division, and other issues. She has also assisted members of the LGBTQ community with their family law issues.
If you are interested in resolving your legal matter out of court, Carolyn can also help. The process typically means less money, less stress and faster resolutions. Carolyn can facilitate alternative dispute resolution options such as mediation, arbitration and settlement meetings. She can appear with you in judicial dispute resolution hearings or collaborative law settings. She can negotiate settlement agreements, process documents for an uncontested divorce, prepare cohabitation, prenuptial or property agreements, and process adoption applications.
In the area of wills and estates, Carolyn helps you plan your end-of-life experience. She strongly believes that if you understand your legal rights and options you can better prepare for an end that is dignified and respectful. In creating a will package that reflects your wishes, Carolyn provides information, advice and support in a confidential and caring environment.
